Anne is a typical American high school student in the 1980's. During a bad experience at school Anne accidentally discovers that she has the power to "stop" people. In other words she can freeze them in time and they are unaware of what is going on around them, other people no longer see them, as long as they are stopped the World forgets about them. She can make them "go" again whenever she wants. As far as Anne knows there is no limit to the number of people she can stop at a time or how long she stops them. One thing that Anne does not know is that whenever she stops someone and brings them back, they don't come back whole. They lose part of who they are and something dark and sinister takes it's place. The longer they are stopped, the more of themselves they lose."
